IMMS
were requested to perform the comprehensive testing of
two mill roller shafts of one of the world's biggest sugar
mills owned by Wang Kanai Group located in the northeast
of Thailand. The shafts, which were 6 meter long, almost
1 meter wide in diameter, and 32 tons in weight, were
suspected of having some internal cracks.
Acoustic
Emission and Ultrasonic techniques were selected.
The data obtained from the tests showed several locations
of internal fatigue cracks as assumed, and the visual
observation had confirmed the test results. |
